Heathbox, a proposal set up by Carlos Castro and Pedro Guerra, members of the Biomedical Image Technologieslab (BIT) at the Electrical Engineering Department, has been selected as finalist in the innovation contest IDEA² Madrid, organized by the M+Visión consortium, a joint initiative of the Madrid Region -through the madri+d Foundation- in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The proposal, meant to create a cloud platform to protect, share and analyze your personal medical data, will now be assigned expert guidance and support to develop its ideas into a full-fledged project, and, potentially, a new business venture.

The IDEA² contest emulates a similar successful program designed by Harvard and MIT to develop new businesses and technologies which, in the case of Madrid, revolve around innovation and entrepreneurship in the biomedical field"
