March 1974Prof. E. Muñoz Merino obtains the Chair of “Electronics II-III” by competitive examination.
March - December 1974The first members of the future DIEL join: A. García Guerra, J.L. Marín Galán, F. Sandoval, S. Serrano, C. Martínez, C. López Barrio, etc.
1977The Chair of “Digital Systems” is created by transforming the previous Chair of “Electrometry”. A. García Guerra was initially appointed Interim Professor and, later (1/24/81), C. López Barrio.
10/31/86The Directors of the Departments of “Electronics II-III” (E. Muñoz Merino) and “Digital Systems” (C. López Barrio) who had been holding their positions since 10/1/82 leave.
1/11/86The Department of Electronic Engineering is created as a merger of the previous ones. Prof. E. Muñoz Merino is elected as Director.
