New DIE website in Astro

New DIE website in Astro

January 11, 2026

The Department of Electronic Engineering launches a new website to offer a clearer, faster, and easier-to-maintain experience than the previous Drupal-based platform. The new site has been rebuilt with Astro, a modern framework focused on performance and static content, designed to keep departmental information always up to date and accessible.

What improves compared to the previous website

Section titled “What improves compared to the previous website”
  • Easier maintenance. The content structure is organized in readable files, avoiding the complexity of an old CMS and reducing fragile dependencies.
  • Performance and stability. Pages load faster and more consistently, with fewer resource and routing errors.
  • Cleaner design. The presentation has been simplified to improve readability and navigation without losing the institutional identity.
  • Structured content. News, events, teaching, and profiles are generated consistently, making it easier to keep everything aligned.
  • Ready to grow. The new base allows adding complete sections (like MUISE) and local resources without breaking the rest of the site.
  • Home page with highlights, news, events, and offers.
  • Complete section for the Master’s Degree in Electronic Systems Engineering (MUISE).
  • People directory and updated institutional content.
  • Local downloadable resources to avoid broken links.

This update lays the foundations for a more sustainable website, with faster changes and less friction for the team that maintains departmental information.
