General Information

Course Objectives

This one-week module is part of the ERASMUS Course on Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It aims at providing the diagnostic imaging professional with a sound understanding of the basic physical principles underlying MRI. No previous knowledge of MR principles is assumed. The course format includes formal lectures and computer aided teaching, self-evaluation and self-teaching sessions.

A certificate will be awarded to the successful candidates.

Accreditation

The Erasmus course Basic MRI Physics, Madrid, Spain, 21/10/2019-25/10/2019 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 15 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Through an agreement between the European Union of Medical Specialists and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credits to AMA credits can be found at www.ama-assn.org/education/earn-credit-participation-international-activities.

Live educational activities occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC® credits are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Registration and fees

First you should fill the registration form on the organization web site

Fees including course materials, lunches, coffee breaks and social dinner: 700 € full fee, reduced to 500 € for certified students. To qualify for the reduced fee a letter signed by the Head of Department has to be sent to Eva Rojas by email <erojas@die.upm.es>.

Special food must also be requested in advance.

Some rooms have been reserved in Hotel Tirol, which is located near the city center and it is approximately 15 minutes by bus to the course location.
