Doctorate in Electronic Systems Engineering (RD 99/2011)

Job Insertion

Given the large number of collaborations that the Program’s professors have, the network of contacts created is the most efficient and common mechanism for the job placement of students who finish their doctoral thesis. Many of the research projects are part of large consortia that include research centers and also relevant companies in the Program’s research lines. These companies are very interested in the Program’s graduates since they present a profile that is very tailored to their needs.

The University provides doctoral students with a page where they can find all the national, regional, own and external aid for completing the doctorate, as well as mobility calls for carrying out stays and information on postdoctoral contracts.

Additionally, the UPM has two initiatives to guide students in their job placement:

  • On the one hand, it has the Orientation, Information and Employment Center (COIE) to communicate and guide its students in their entry into the labor market, especially in the search for their first job. The COIE develops two main lines of action: graduates register to have access to job offers received at the Center, and companies have an effective service to fill their jobs with graduates who best adapt to their needs and the requested profile.

  • Secondly, in order for research results to be exploited through the creation of spin-offs with the collaboration of UPM Professors, the University has a specific business creation program. The Program is part of the UPM Innovation, Marketing and Business Creation Area, and aims to create companies with high growth potential.
