Welcome to the main information page about the Doctorate in “Electronic Systems Engineering” (DISE).

This program is the heir to the Doctoral Program in “Electronic Systems” (DSE) that obtained the “Mention towards Excellence” granted by ANECA by resolution of October 6, 2011, valid until the 2013-2014 academic year. Likewise, the program is the heir to the Doctoral Program “Electronic Systems Engineering for Intelligent Environments” (ISEEI), which already received the Quality Mention from the Ministry in the 2005-2006 academic year, and renewed it during the 2006/2007, 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 academic years (Resolution of October 20, 2008 of the Secretary of State for Universities).

The Doctorate Program in “Electronic Systems” (DSE) arises from the initiative of the Department of Electronic Engineering (DIE) of the Higher Technical School of Telecommunications Engineers (ETSIT), of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). The scope of postgraduate studies covered by the program refers to Electronic Engineering and Technologies, although it includes others that are support and requirements for the development of applications, systems and services for future intelligent environments.

The third cycle activities of this Program are grouped in the research areas of Microelectronic Devices and Technologies, Optoelectronics, Microsystems, Design and Testing of Electronic Circuits and Systems, Processing Architectures and Support Software Tools and Components, Biomedical Systems, Speech Technology, Services based on Wireless Communications and Home Automation.
